Next, the Er:YAG laser removes subgingival calculus and bacterial toxins from the root surface, micro-texturing root and bone at the same time to encourage cells to reattach. Finally the Nd:YAG laser returns to coagulate blood inside the cleaned pocket, forming a stable clot rich in growth factors that acts both as a natural barrier against reinfection and as a matrix for the new attachment.
