Teeth in a day
17 August, 2019

Immediate-loading implant treatment is a procedure compressed into a single session: the dental implant is placed and the provisional prosthetic restoration is applied on the same day. After the implant has integrated into the bone, the provisional restoration is replaced with a definitive one. At the same time, within the surgical intervention, teeth can be extracted, bone augmentations performed, implants placed and prosthetic abutments applied. At the end, the restoration is fitted by the prosthodontist. What is great for the patient is that they leave the practice with teeth, without anyone realising they have undergone a dental procedure.
These procedures require advanced knowledge, experience and meticulous planning.
Compared with the classic procedure that involves several clinic visits and months of waiting, this technique has numerous advantages:
– appropriate aesthetics,
– immediate restoration of masticatory function,
– reduced invasiveness because all steps are carried out in a single intervention,
– lower costs especially for people travelling from long distances.
Current studies show that, when primary implant stability is favourable, the functionality of the dento-maxillary system restored through immediate prosthetic work is identical to that of restorations made 4 months after implant placement. This means that appearance, chewing and speech are fully restored, with social integration and patient comfort considerably improved.
Dental prosthetics aims not only at restoring lost functions, but also at maintaining the patient's appearance, health and well-being. Applying the prosthetic restoration in the same session as surgical implant placement is possible thanks to experienced specialist doctors, current materials and latest-generation equipment (CAD/CAM, 3D planning of the clinical case, etc.) that allow us minimally invasive therapeutic approaches.
