Five reasons for regular dental check-ups

Preventive oncology screening. One of the most important reasons for a periodic dental check-up is that the dentist, before examining the teeth, looks at neighbouring structures (mucosa, tongue, throat) and can highlight pathological changes. Studies show that more than half of general diseases have oral manifestations, and oncological conditions of the oral cavity are the fourth most common cancer in humans.
Early detection of dental lesions. Attending periodic dental check-ups is necessary to prevent dental disease. Treatment of an advanced dental condition is always longer, more difficult and more painful than prevention.
Early detection of gum lesions. The dentist will be able to spot any unfavourable change in the teeth in good time and take the necessary measures. Most often this means routine care that is painless and inexpensive, such as scaling. In the early stages, periodontal disease can be treated more easily and its progress stopped before serious damage to the tooth or gums, avoiding lengthy, complicated and painful procedures or tooth loss.
Preventing bad breath. According to statistics, 85% of people with bad breath have a dental condition. Therefore, to fight halitosis, the causes must be identified and removed.
Saving time and money. Last but not least, a good reason to attend periodic dental check-ups is that we can make significant savings in the family budget. Dental treatments for advanced conditions are not only more complicated, longer and more painful, but also more expensive.
